About Me

I advise on a wide range of employment matters including discrimination, unfair dismissal, breach of contract, equal pay and whistle-blowing. 

I am experienced in negotiation and have achieved significant settlements for individuals and departing senior executives. Equally for employers, I am able to advise on the risks of defending claims and strategies for reducing costs during any litigation process. I appear regularly at the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal for both Claimants and Respondents.

I act for a number of Independent Schools, Oxford Colleges and other educational establishments as well as several charities and care homes and am experienced in advising on all aspects of safeguarding including media management. I am current Chair of Trustees for a local Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation charity.

I have a particular expertise in advising hospital doctors and GPs on national terms and conditions and contractual or disputes and was successful in the Supreme Court on a pay-protection case for a senior doctor re-entering training (Verma v Barts and the London NHS Trust 2013). 

I advise on policies, contracts, handbooks, settlement agreements and other corporate documentation. I deliver training seminars and briefings on a variety of subjects and regularly give talks on maternity rights, discrimination and flexible working. I am often asked to speak on BBC radio and have written several articles published in journals and the national press.

I am a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and of the Employment Lawyers Association.
