When I spotted yet another (no doubt false) rumour about a rift between the Beckhams and a pending separation, it reminded me once again how lucky my clients are to go through marital difficulties out of the spotlight.

It's no secret that external pressures can push couples apart and wreck a marriage, with most divorces occurring within the first few years of marriage and when parties are struggling with the stress of having young children.

The Marriage Foundation, founded by Sir Paul Coleridge, has thrown up some fascinating statistics about divorce, most interestingly in relation to the likelihood of divorce when you're an A-Lister.

Apparently you're twice more likely to divorce if you're under the glare of the celebrity spotlight, than us regular folk.

It seems money and fame really don't buy you happiness!
